Editarian Report for May 22, 2025
Please note the date is the same whether you read it left to right or right to left. This will remain true for the date on which you read this Rotogram. So this week we were once again social at the Irish Pub. I of course enjoy the company which is second only to their addictive corned beef egg rolls. I know I’m not supposed to tread on the questions asked for Rotary birthdays, but what else can one write about for a pub gathering? So I posed the following question to a number of Rotarians. “We’re singing karaoke later, what song do you want me to queue up for you?” Rotarian answers may surprise you.

Lolo Robison: Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around Sung as a duet with her husband Dane. Put Lolo in her Bee suit and Dane in, well, anything, and you could give Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers a run for their money.

Hari Kern is going to sing Fly Me to the Moon. If she played this on the Rotary piano and sang on Friday, I think she could fill up a goldfish bowl sized tip jar.

George Seigle promised to sing Sweet Caroline while dressed like 1970’s Neil Diamond complete with pork chop sideburns and plunging vee propagated with abundant chest hair.

Christina Nickson says she can’t live without singing Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black.

Club Secretary Extraordinaire Cathy says she saw Jaws in 1975 and has been singing “Show Me the Way to Go Home, I’m Tired and I want to Go to Bed” every Thursday night since.

Sue Hansen’s version of Tears of a Clown will be so emo that Linda Ronstadt will spend the rest of her life apologizing to Stephen King for how she made clowns seem too happy.

Take a wild guess which Rotary Drama Queen picked We Will Rock You?

If you guessed right, then you're certain to know who picked American Girl. Another Tom Petty pick.

There were more responses, and I know you'd really like to see them all, but You Can't Always Get What You Want and besides, it's a holiday weekend.

I left early but assume a great time was had by all. Tip of the hat to George Wendt (Norm) from Cheers, Question from Sam:  "How does a beer sound Norm?" Norm's answer:  I don't know, I usually drink it before it has a chance to speak."
