Biography for Dr. Judith Stoddart
Dr. Judith Stoddart is Associate Provost for University Collections and Arts Initiatives and Senior Associate Dean in the Graduate School at Michigan State University. She received her BA in English and French as a National Merit Scholar at MSU and, after being selected as a Rhodes Scholar, attended Oxford University, where she earned a master’s and doctoral degree in English. She served as interim Associate Provost for Graduate Education and Dean of the Graduate School at Michigan State from 2015-2017. Prior to that she was associate dean in the Graduate School, serving as a project director for grants focused on graduate program improvement and graduate student retention and completion, and coordinating the University Doctoral Fellowship Programs. An associate professor in the Department of English, Judith is the recipient of departmental and university awards for her graduate and undergraduate teaching. She has published on 19th-century theories of nationalism, aesthetic theory, and visual culture. Outside of MSU, Judith has served as a certified mediator for alternate dispute resolution. As a therapy team, she and her border collie Kip have worked at Ele’s Place for 6 years.

Club/Foundation Treasurer Position
We are seeking nominations for someone to serve as Treasurer for both the Club and our Club’s Foundation. The primary function of the Treasurer is to exercise oversight over Club and Foundation funds and ensure that budgetary control is appropriately maintained. The Treasurer serves as a member of both the Club’s board of directors and the Foundation’s board of directors. A detailed job description is available from Cathy or Club President Dennis Fliehman. If you are interested in this position please contact Dennis Fliehman as soon as possible, as we would like to elect the new Treasurer at the Club board’s meeting on June 18th.
 
We would like to recognize Melody Warzecha for her dedicated service as Treasurer over the past two and a half years. Thank you, Melody!
