On Friday, June 14, 2024 we will be having lunch at John M. Patriarche Park, 960 Alton Road, East Lansing where the Pickleball Courts are located in the complex. We will eat in the pavilion (it is reserved for us) with box lunches and walk over (there is a baseball diamond in between the two) to the Pickleball Complex. Sue Mills has been kind enough to enlist Rotarians to demonstrate the game and supply paddles and balls. We will play 4 o a court with an "instructor" to help us. If you are interested, PLEASE WEAR TENNIS SHOES, we are allowed to stay on the courts as long as we would like.
When you enter the large parking lot off of Alton into the park, the Pavilion is to the left and the Pickleball Courts are to the right. If you are interested in trying out this game, please email suemills@comcast.net she would like to make sure we have enough paddles. Thank YOU!
Lansing Rivers and River Trail Cleanup, Saturday, June 1st from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event headquarters is Potter Park Zoo, however there will be satellite sites at Rotary Park and Moores Park to distribute food, beverages, and equipment. Please contact Jason Brunette if you are interested: Jason.Brunette@martincommercial.com.
It was a lovely early summer day at Lansing Shuffle. Three new Rotarians completed their new member orientation prior to the social gathering. The bar was out of limes but the chicken taquitos were a huge hit by all assembled. Many were talking about their long holiday weekend plans; some were more relaxing, some people had aggressive DIY plans. However you celebrated, with friends, family, food, festivals, parades and fun, may you remember the reason for the weekend. Remember – no meeting next Friday, either. See you in JUNE!
