Chair of the day; Terry Terry introduced Kayla Green prayed to us using a poem reminding the attendees
That God is Ubiquitous and we depend on God for everything.
Our Patriotic Song: America the Beautiful artfully rendered by Ray Charles, 1972, and recorded by John Person.
Recognized visitors were a new Rotarian Kim Brock Garland, speaker from last week Dr. Steve Robinson who transferred his membership from Ohio.
The health report of the club improving according to Diane Sanborn since Kelley is back to work although anticancer Keytruda makes her tired but is very effective to date. Rotarian Terry added an in person emphasis to the good news.
Announcements from President Julie:
1. A recurring IT link of our meetings has been added to appear weekly on Thursday and will appear with Cathy’s reminders.
2. An advanced in person meeting of distaff Rotarians who remember the good old days has begun at a beer garden and except for the masks was great fun inspired by Michelle Reynaert and Courtney Millbrook.
3. International Grant Applications are open till October 31 to collect applicants to be sent to the home office for assignation assignments.
4. Mitch has added exclusive Michigan produce to the Capital City Market underwritten by Meijer.
Special Music; Diego Rivera, MSU college of music associate professor of Jazz put the saxophone through its paces acapella performing John Coltrane’s “Alabama”. Rotarian Terry our chair of the month covered all the bases with the music and the introduction of his speaker Kevin Suboski.
Mr. Suboski has built a successful business around the EOS, Entrepreneurial Operating System, made famous by Gino Wickman’s best seller “Traction”. Kevin brings the essentials of the concept to light personally and, to us, verbally summarizing the fundamentals emphasizing that leaders must understand the weakness of our personality foibles. Overcoming selfish altruism and a failure of leaders to create symmetry goals that must be sold through storytelling to achieve a shared vision. This is not an easy result Mr. Suboski made clear but he has created literature and with his assistance leaders can improve their chances. He is available as a consultant for moderate sized businesses at kevin to measurably make the latest innovation axiomatic. I’m sure Mr. Suboski was pleased when his presentation was honored by being added to the $2,000,000 Rotary has collected for worthy organizations.
Next week another Zoom meeting Friday, October 23, David Barr discussing Russian Brainstorming or shall we say chemical additions to tea drinking critics methodology.
