One of Michigan’s most respected attorneys, Jack C. Davis is a leader in both the business world and the community.  As part of the firm’s Business Transactions, Real Estate, Business Entities and Tax Law Departments, Mr. Davis manages a large client base, providing expert legal counsel to corporate and real estate clients.  He also practices in the area of sports and entertainment law.  He was a member of a delegation of attorneys sent to China in 1987, the former USSR in 1989, and the former Eastern Bloc Countries in 1990, to advise government leaders on corporate, partnership, and trust entity creation and transactional matters for the development of a free market economy.  He regularly presents programs for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and various business and professional groups on tax matters and estate planning.
 
Mr. Davis attended the University of Wisconsin and Harvard Law School. He is listed in the 2017 Edition of the Best Lawyers of America as well as the 2017 Editions of Preeminent Lawyers, Leading Lawyers of America, Top Lawyer, and Super Lawyer. He has been awarded the Worldwide Who’s Who Lifetime Achievement Award and Worldwide Registry Best Attorneys in Michigan Award. He has also maintained the highest rating of legal ability and ethical standards from Martindale-Hubbell for over 25 years. Prior to joining the Loomis Law Firm in 1966 he was associated with Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago.
 
Mr. Davis devotes considerable time to making mid-Michigan a stronger region, through service to education, economic development and the arts. He chaired the Regional Blue Ribbon Panel on Retention of General Motors and was a long-time member of the Lansing School District Board of Education (twice serving as President) and a former Chair of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce. He has been Chair of the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP).  Mr. Davis, and his wife Susan, were awarded with the Outstanding Philanthropist Award in 2012 by Capital Region Community Foundation. He has been awarded the Dorothy Beardmore Service to Education Award, the Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Citizen Award, Chamber of Commerce Community Service Pioneer Award, Distinguished Citizen Award by Chief Okemos Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and Boys and Girls Club “Man and Boy Award.” He is a Founder and former Trustee of the Lansing Community College Foundation and Legal Aid of Central Michigan. He is also Past Chair of the Impression Five Museum Board of Directors and Recipient of the 2013 Greater Lansing Business Monthly Entrepreneurial Award. He is currently Chair of the Regional Board of the Broad Art Museum. He has been a long time member of the H.O.P.E. Scholarship Board of Directors and the Lansing Promise Zone Board of Directors.
 
He and his wife Susan Sheaffer Davis have been married for 52 years and have two children, Greg and Jennifer, and 4 grandchildren.
