Becoming a Member of Rotary Club of Lansing

Service Above Self

Rotary is a worldwide organization of more than 1.3 million business, professional, and community leaders in 200 countries, who make a difference in the communities in which they live.

The Rotary Club of Lansing is one of the biggest clubs in the State of Michigan and we take pride in what we give back to the community and throughout the world. All Rotarians are held to a high ethical standard and we consider it is a privilege to be a part of an organization that helps build goodwill, community support and peace in the world.

Because of the commitment required of a Rotary Club of Lansing member, our membership process is prudent and thoughtful.
Here is How to Become a Lansing Rotarian:
  • You will have a sponsor who is already a member and will nominate you as a member. If you do not have a sponsor, call the club and someone will be assigned as your sponsor.
  • Attend 3 meetings prior to submitting your application
  • Fill out an application (provided by your sponsor or the club administrator or apply online)
  • Your name will be provided to the Club members via the Rotogram for opportunity for members to provide feedback on prospective new members
  • Your application will be submitted to the Board of Directors for vetting and final approval
  • Upon approval, you will receive an invoice for your Rotary membership dues

To be a Lansing Rotarian you need a heart for service and to understand the commitment that goes into being a member of this organization.

As a member, you’re expected to:
  • Give to the club a minimum of three times a year:
    • Paul Harris donation to Rotary International in April

  • Fellowship with members who share the same values
  • To know you’re making a difference in your community
