Dr. Michael Nanzer is the new Executive Director of Behavioral Health at UM Health-Sparrow, in partnership with Sheppard Pratt.A native of Michigan, Michael brings over 20 years of experience to his role. He began his career as a physical therapist and has since progressed to CEO and COO roles across various hospital systems, with a focus on behavioral health and rehabilitation. Throughout his career, he has led significant initiatives to expand access to care, strengthen healthcare teams, and improve patient outcomes across the state.
At UM Health-Sparrow, he oversees our behavioral health services and plays a key role in developing our new hospital. This initiative truly reflects the meaningful community impact this board advocates.
Michael is also a passionate advocate for mental health and suicide prevention, dedicated to reducing stigma and enhancing access to care.
