The Haslett High School Chorale is the flagship ensemble for the Haslett choral program. Students in the ensemble have for themselves not only been leaders in the choral program, but also within their school community. This audition group features primarily juniors and seniors, that work to create a high quality of work spanning many genres of music. Chorale in recent years has been selected as the Most Outstanding Ensemble for the MSVMA All State Festival in 2022 and had the honor of performing as one of 4 choirs at the MSVMA Choral Hour at the Michigan Music Conference in 2024.
Mr. Matthew Callaghan is the current Director of Choral Activities at Haslett High School, and also serves as President Elect for MSVMA (Michigan School Vocal Music Association). During his seventeen year career as an educator, Mr. Callaghan has had groups perform nationally at Chicago Symphony Hall, St. John the Divine, Lefrak Concert Hall (Queens College), and Carnegie Hall. Vocalists under his direction have also had the honor to perform at MSVMA State and All-State events as soloists and choral ensembles.
