The Michigan World War I Commission is holding a special ceremony at the Capitol on November 8th from noon to 1:00 p.m. to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the end of World War I. The commission is looking for a few volunteers to ring bells at the event. One volunteer will have the honor of ringing the bell 21 times following the reading of a poem. This will be a solemn moment, following by a choir singing. Speakers will include the governor and other dignitaries, and posting and retiring of the colors by the American Legion. If you are interested in volunteering for this event please contact Rotarian (from the Jackson club) Shelly Hendrick Kasprzycki at (517) 372-7770 by Thursday of this week. Her email address is skasprzycki@mihumanities.org.
