As part of our efforts to increase the visibility of the club, we are planning to have a vendor booth at two festivals in June, Juneteenth and Lansing Pride, assuming we can secure enough volunteers. Volunteers will hand out promotional materials in two-hour shifts (canopy, table and chairs will be provided), with at least two members per shift. Here are the details:
Juneteenth, June 20, 10 AM - 3 PM
St. Joseph Park, 2125 W Hillsdale St, Lansing, MI 48915
Need: at least 4 volunteers
Lansing Pride: Saturday, June 27, 11:00 - 6:00
Turner and Chavez, Old Town Lansing
Need: at least 6 volunteers

Call for Volunteers! A coup d'état is brewing in Lansing Rotary and President Chris may be taken out by a musical themed drone strike. In the time honored tradition of the Club, on June INSERT DATE, we will do a send off for President Chris. And last but not least, an appearance by a bare footed shirtless banjo playing rube honoring Courtney Millbook's symphonic presidency (I paid $25 for the hat, $100 for a used banjo on craigs list but I already had the cape.....long story, all of it credited to my Paul Harris account contributions).
Needless to say, the Sergeant at Arms committee is stumped by President Chris' lack of workable material to craft into a suitable tribute.

From April 19th to May 19th, there will be matching points to the Annual Fund SHARE of at least $100 with an equal number of Foundation Recognition Points. The maximum match is 500 points. Nominations Wanted for our Club’s “Rotary Hero” Our club’s board of directors is requesting nominations for a club member who will be recognized as our club’s “Rotary Hero.” The Rotary Hero will be selected by our club’s board at our meeting, and will be honored at the District Conference held in St. Joseph on May 16th. A nominee should be a current Rotarian who truly exemplifies “Service Above Self” in everything that he or she thinks, says or does, or a long-time member who has given many years of service.
Your nomination should include:
Your nominee’s name and a two-word descriptor, such as “Servant Leader” or “Go Getter”
A paragraph (or more if you feel inspired) describing why they are our Club Hero
Past honorees from our club have been: Jack Draper, Jack Bates, Ken Beachler, Duane Vernon, Irv Nichols, Helen Mickens, Mark Hooper, Pat Hanes, Sue Mills, Kurt Guter and John Cauley.
