After their first year of marriage Catherine’s husband, Dr. Terry Matthews, proposed the idea of opening a business. She claims ‘young love’ is the only reason she was agreeable. Together, they opened Lansing Urgent Care in August 2006 and over the years have grown their business to 8 clinics including the areas only 24/7 urgent care. Additionally, they are very proud to have created 160+ jobs for the Lansing community. Four years following their first clinic opening The Matthews’ & Lansing Urgent Care were awarded the 2010 Top 50 Company in Michigan to Watch. The following year they were awarded as the 2011 Greater Lansing's Entrepreneur of the Year in Healthcare.
In August of 2020, Catherine and Dr. Terry Matthews opened Skin Boss Med Spa in Haslett, MI and have since received numerous awards including the 2022 Greater Lansing Entrepreneurial Award and was recognized as a Top 50 Company to Watch by Michigan Celebrates Small Business in 2023.
