Rotary Club of Lansing Foundation
To honor their promise of “Service Above Self,” Rotarians support charitable endeavors of importance that make a positive impact on the city, the nation, and the world.
The Rotary Club of Lansing Foundation established the source of revenue for these charitable efforts. As the philanthropic arm of the Lansing Rotary Club, the Foundation has provided over $2,000,000 in grants for local and international projects due to the generosity of Rotarians. When donations are made to projects in the community, the country, or internationally, they are made through the foundation.
The foundation receives the funds to make these donations in a number of ways:
- Donations made by Rotarians on their birthdays (of an amount hopefully no less than their age)
- For the Holidays Rotarians make contributions that help fund the annual Children’s Holiday Party for special needs children in the Lansing School District
- Through gifts made to the Endowment Fund
- In April, Rotarians give in the name of Paul Harris to support Rotary International projects throughout the world including the eradication of polio
- Estate planning gifts from Rotarians and in honor of Rotarians by family and friends
The Foundation received its 501(c)(3) Federal Tax Exempt status in 1979. The Rotary Club of Lansing Foundation is governed by a Board of not less than nine Directors who are members of the Rotary Club of Lansing and who are elected by the general membership.
The Rotary Club of Lansing Foundation has a long-standing tradition of enabling Rotarians to make a difference through generosity and service above self.
