The Rotary social evening at Lansing Brewing Company on Thursday, Nov. 16th was an eye opening experience for a few of us sitting with Teresa Kmetz! Along with the traditional eating of pizza and other very tasty tidbits and enjoying beverages of choice, we learned about a movement of “work-from-homers” (aka remote employees) during and after the pandemic who actually took on two or even three full-time jobs (and the related salaries!) and never got caught. There’s even social media sites related to this ethically-challenged group of employees…no surprise there I guess. Just a word of caution to all of you employers and supervisors who have remote staff: make sure you know what’s happening!
